Traffic Count Maps

The City of Federal Way collects two types of traffic counts, Turning Movement Counts and Average Daily Traffic counts. These counts can be accessed by going to the Traffic Count detail maps.

Turning Movement Count (TMC) -
TMC's are turning movements at intersection taken during the evening peak rush-hour between 4:00 to 6:00 PM. This represents the single heaviest hour of evening traffic. These counts are from 2002 and before.

Average Daily Traffic (ADT) -
This is a unit of measure for traffic on a roadway taken at mid-block. This represents the average total traffic volume in any single day. It also contains AM and PM peak rush-hour volume. These counts were taken as part of the City 2000 Transportation Model update program. In some areas, traffic counts from 2003 are also available.
