Youth Commission Who we are: The Federal Way Youth Commission is a committee of Junior and High School Students from the Federal Way area who meet at least once a month to plan youth events for the city. It serves as an advisory body to the City Council, other city boards, commissions, and appropriate city staff on youth issues and youth programs. Commissioners serve a one to two year term, and serve from September 1 – August 31. Our Vision: - Enhance community awareness and communication, which includes youth awareness of the community and the community’s awareness of youth issues.
- Protect and advocate for the best interests of Federal Way youth.
- Support the needs and endeavors of Federal Way youth.
- Promote youth interests in culture and diversity.
- Advocate for youth needs and opinions related to education.
Our Mission Statement: The City of Federal Way Youth Commission serves as representatives of all young people throughout our community. We value and promote youth ideas, input, involvement, diversity, communication, and success. By serving as an advisory board, we provide observations, information, and suggestions to the City Council. Through our leadership, we hope to progress toward the fulfillment of our vision.
