21st Ave. SW at SW 336th St. Intersection
The intent of this project is to increase the capacity and safety of this intersection. On November 15, 2011,the City Council reviewed design alternatives for this project and selected a traditional intersection improvement. The alternative selected for this project would result in widening of SW 336th Street/SW Campus Drive to construct dual left-turn lanes eastbound and westbound and a right–turn lane westbound. This project will include access control along SW 336th street and also install a new traffic signal west of the intersection to allow for left turn access into the businesses north and south of the roadway. Additional work will include utility relocation, storm drainage, paving, curb, gutter, sidewalk, street lighting, signing, channelization, and landscaping.
The construction contract was awarded to SCI Infrastructure. Project construction is scheduled to begin in early May and completion is anticipated in December 2013, except for the final overlay and striping whch are schduled to be completed in May 2014.
