The 4th annual Family Green Fest was held on Saturday, May 31, 10 am – 2 pm at the Federal Way Community Center. Over 400 residents attended the event to visit the 20 educational booths, participate in green crafts and fun activities at the annual Family Green Fest.

Free Kids Activities 


Free Shredding Event 
  • 323 residents brought 8,000 pounds of confidential documents for shredding courtesy of Woodstone Credit Union.


Enviornmentally-friendly Items Sold 
  • 875 energy-efficient CFL and LED bulbs were purchased subsidized by Puget Sound Energy.
  • Blue Sky Services sold alpaca dryer balls as an eco-friendly alternative to dryer sheets.
  • Nuts About Recycling sold magnets made from once-used bottle caps that were otherwise destined for the landfill.


Next year’s Recycle Palooza Contest and Family Green Fest is slated for May 2015. More information available in early 2015.
