EMPLOYMENT STATUS:      Temporary, Part-Time

SALARY RANGE:                $13.00 - $16.00/hour

*NOTE: This is a part-time position, approximately 0-15 hours every week with the opportunity for additional hours at other Recreation Inclusive activities and has no benefits. 



Conduct Inclusive Recreation trips (for adults with developmental disabilities) on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the community. Maintain professional image and positive attitude under stressful conditions; act as role model; ensure the safety of participants; assist participants loading and unloading from the van; monitoring the behavior of participants; and operate a shuttle van. As a representative of the Parks Department, a uniform will be provided and must be worn during working hours.



  • Drive a city van to and from the selected location of the trip.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before start of program and stay until all participants have been picked up.
  • Maintain safety on the trips.
  • Render first aid in case of minor injury.
  • Maintain contact with coordinator.
  • Assist participants when needed.
  • Come up with new trip ideas for future trips.
  • Attend staff training and staff meetings.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.



  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Current First Aid card and CPR card required
  • Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities or other populations in a recreation setting is preferred.
