Don't Drip and Drive

Not only does fixing vehicle leaks help you care for your car over the long run, it is also good for our environment. Here in Washington State, we're releasing an estimated 7 million quarts of motor oil into the Puget Sound Watershed every year. Given that the average quart of motor oil costs $5-$10, it's estimated that consumers are pouring $53,615,500 down the drain each year! Not only are car leaks costing us a lot of money, they're also toxic to the environment. When it rains, stormwater picks up and carries toxic chemicals from our cars into storm drains, and from there into streams, lakes and eventually into Puget Sound where they can harm wildlife and habitat.
