Event Description

Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell will host a public forum via Zoom with the African American/Black Community beginning at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29.

The virtual meeting, which is open to everyone, will feature presentations from several guest speakers and provide ample time for citizens to comment.

Community leaders scheduled to present include: Reverend Gordon Banks, Overcomer Covenant Church pastor; Federal Way Diversity Commission Chair Julian Franco; Federal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang; Federal Way Municipal Court Judge David Larson, Lyn Idahosa, Federal Way Black Collective executive director; and Dr. Bob McKenzie, Chief’s Call Chair.

The public forum section after the presentations will feature both the audio and video of those speaking. Organizers are asking those who would like to speak to utilize the Zoom platform tools in order to notify the moderator.

Those interested in participating can also call the Mayor’s Office at 253-835-2402 and request a Zoom invitation via email.

As the entire City Council is invited, this is being noticed as a potential Council quorum.
