Event Description

Roll on over to the South King Tool Library on Saturday, June 26 for a free tire recycling event. Residents can drop off up to 10 tires for free recycling. Only car and light truck tires are accepted. Tires can be on or off rims. Do not bring tires from businesses, semi-trucks, or heavy equipment.

To assist with the flow of traffic, please enter 340th St from northbound Pacific Hwy (Hwy 99). Staff are available to unload, so you may remain in your vehicle. If you must exit your vehicle, please wear a mask.

The City of Federal Way Recycling is sponsoring this event to collect unwanted tires. Old tires contain chemicals and heavy metals that leach into the environment as the tires break down. In addition, tires left out can fill with rainwater and become a breeding ground for pests such as mosquitos. Tires collected at this event will be recycled.

Thank you to the Washington State Department of Ecology and the King County Solid Waste Division for providing grant funding to support this event and allow free participation. Additional support was provided from the City of Federal Way in coordination with South King Tool Library.
