EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  Temporary, Part-Time*                      OPENS:   February 22, 2019

SALARY RANGE:              $12.00/hour                                      CLOSES: When Filled


*This is a part-time position working up to 17.5 hours/week with no benefits.  Weekdays are evening shifts from 5:00pm-9:30pm and weekend shifts are from 12:00pm-6:00pm.

Under the direction of the Federal Way Community Center Supervisor; the gym attendant is responsible for monitoring the basketball gymnasium, making sure the facility is clean, orderly and that the rules and policies are being followed.  Gym Attendants will also assist guests with questions and equipment set-up.  Position includes light cleaning of gymnasium, locker rooms, family cabanas, climbing pinnacle and hallways. 


  • Welcome and assist members and guests, introducing them to the facility, assisting them with equipment needs and creating an environment that is fun and safe.
  • Ensure the safety of members and guests by keeping facility clean, monitoring fair play and de-escalating hostile interactions.
  • Maintain an environment of teamwork by communicating with the front desk, building attendants and management.
  • Provide facility tours for visitors.
  • Monitor appropriate usage and enforce rules.
  • Monitor facility property, preventing theft, damage, etc.
  • May be asked to assist in cleaning duties that include bathrooms and locker rooms.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to take initiative, make sound decisions, handle conflict and enforce rules in an independent manner.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and AED cards required.
  • Ability to successfully pass Washington State Patrol background check pursuant to RCW 43.43.832
