EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  Temporary, Part-Time                             

SALARY RANGE: $12.00 - $20.00 DOQ

NOTE:  This is a part-time position working no more than 17 hours per week with no benefits.

 

BASIC FUNCTION: 

Under the direction of the Arts and Community Events Coordinator, the Gymnastics/Creative Movement Instructor is responsible for planning, teaching, and evaluating classes at City facilities.  The Instructor will plan, implement, lead, and evaluate classes for community members who have registered for class. The ideal candidate is an energetic coach who may have experience working with a gymnastics club.  The successful candidate will be a team player, organized, and self-motivated.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Class design and set up.
  • Instruct in a group setting where skill levels and abilities vary.
  • Lead members through effective and SAFE classes.
  • Play an active role in the future growth of programs.
  • Ensure the safety of the class participants by paying special attention to technique and proper form.
  • Maintain an environment of teamwork and promote in helping the program grow.
  • Promote personal goal attainment for participants.
  • Ability to tailor instruction to those needing ADA accommodation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Minimum of one year experience teaching in area of expertise.
  • Ability to take initiative, make sound decisions, and trouble shoot problematic situations in an independent manner.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Responsible for own transportation to and from various job sites.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
