Improvements

The adaptive traffic control system is a system that monitors traffic conditions in real time and modifies the signal timing every signal cycle.  This reduces delays and stops, thus improving both air quality and safety.

Schedule

The construction of the project started on January 6, 2020.  Contractor has installed loop detectors, controllers and cameras at most of the intersections for the project.  Project was under suspension of work since since May 2020 awaiting approval from Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to work on five state owned signals and to resolve detection system issues of the project.  We have recieved approval from WSDOT to work on five state owned signals and majority of work has been completed with the exception of PSE plans to provide new power service at all five locations.  We are expecting the work would be complete by December 30, 2021.
