Council Position Number 2 Vacancy Due to a resignation, the Federal Way City Council is now accepting applications for appointment to Council Position #2. Once appointed, the new Councilmember will serve the remainder of the unexpired term through the certification of the general election in November 2025. |

| Background: | This vacancy is due to a councilmember resignation and this position is at-large |
| Compensation: | Monthly salary of $1,468.43 with city contributing $494.19 monthly to a VEBA Plan (health reimbursement plan). |
| Process: | The City Council will conduct interviews of applicants who meet the requirements during a special City Council Meeting to be scheduled in late June. Following interviews, the Council will appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term. |
| Requirements: | (1) complete an application form, |
| (2) be a King County registered voter, and | |
| (3) have resided within the City of Federal Way for one year prior to their appointment. | |
