The City of Federal Way and South King Tool Library are offering a free repair café and tire recycling event.
REPAIR CAFÉ:
Repair Cafes are events where the public can bring broken, cracked, non-functioning - appliances, collectibles, family heirlooms, clothing, linens or everyday items! Our talented fixers will do their best to make your stuff usable or tell you what parts you need to do the repair yourself.
- Attendees have the option of dropping off items or staying at the event. We will serve attendees on a first come first serve basis.
- Please limit to 3 items for repair.
- Attendees must wear masks at all times. Fixers will be spaced out and doors/windows will be open. Capacity of building will be limited and attendees may be asked to wait outside.
- Bring manuals, adapters, chargers, or other components to help us fix or test your item.
- Bring only items you can carry; nothing too large.
- Do NOT bring items that are leaking, dangerous, contain gasoline or have a strong odor. Do not bring microwaves or electronics that are locked out.
- We will do our best to fix it, but no guarantees.
- Please post in the discussion what you are planning to bring so our fixers can see and comment!
TIRE RECYCLING:
We are offering free recycling of tires from residents.
- Limit 10 tires per vehicle.
- Only car and light truck tires are accepted.
- Tires can be on or off rims.
- Do not bring tires from businesses, semi-trucks, or heavy equipment.
To assist with the flow of traffic, please enter S 340th St from northbound Pacific Hwy (Hwy 99).
